I was wondering if somehow Boston Legal would get a reprieve (it obviously deserves better than five seasons) but it seems that, in a mixed blessing, David E. Kelley has a new deal going. His spec script for Warner Bros. TV-- an hourlong legal drama-- was picked up in a bidding war by NBC. This surely means Boston Legal is done, but at least as a consolation we'll get another Kelley legal drama in '09. The show, according to TVGuide.com is set in a Chicago law firm and focuses on an aging partner and his daughter. NBC might be considering it for the soon-to-be-vacated ER timeslot.
