Paramount's 100th

Yes, in addition to Universal's 100th, it's also Paramount Pictures' 100th. If you go to Vanity Fair's site, you can zoom in on the people in this photo, and they are identified. I've been hearing about this photo for a while, nice to finally see it. Of course most of the "comments" are negative ones, because people just HAVE to be jerks. I think it was nicely done myself, and I especially enjoyed the nostalgic pairings, like John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John and Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw.

Universal's 100th Anniversary

Universal Studios is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and it's hardly a secret.  Here's one of their early films, By the Sun's Rays (1914) [from the Internet Archive], Lon Chaney Sr.'s earliest surviving film; a western short with Chaney as the villain, it runs 11 minutes.

One Line Review Turns Two

Happy b-day to my blog, two years old today. This blog has gotten over 16,000 views, so I hope that means some of the content has been worthwhile. I've enjoyed doing it these last two years. Hope to see it to year three in 2010.

One Line Review Turns One

Today is the Presidential Election in the U.S.-- and a big one it is, following the 8-year presidency of George W. Bush. But today also marks a personal milestone-- the one year anniversary of OneLineReview.blogspot.com. The hardest job in keeping a blog going is to make none of it seem like work. It's been difficult to do so, given everyday challenges, but rounding that one-year mark is like rounding home base.

This blog has received over 7,500 visits and 10,000 page views.... Hope it's meant something to those who've stumbled across it. Despite my recent computer woes, I'm hoping to keep this blog going-- looking forward to chiming in year two in '09.
